About 360 degree virtual tours.

FAQs and Help on Flash Virtual Tours, Java VR, and Quicktime VR (QTVR)

With VR movies such as our 360 degree virtual tours, you click and drag your mouse inside the image to spin it and look around. In some tours there are “hotspots” that allow you to click particular areas for more information. There are 3 types of formats we have worked in to build these virtual tours. Flash is the primary technology that drives our tours now. Flash Virtual Tours are able to be seen by the most computers all around the world. You will need to have JAVA enabled in your browser settings to view JAVA tours. Quicktime, a free multimedia player from Apple for Macs or PCs, provides the smoothest playback of our 360 degree virtual tours. If you prefer to view QTVR movies you will need to have Quicktime installed (see Downloads at right).

Check Your Monitor

We want you to see images on your screen as correctly as possible. The following link will help you calibrate your monitor for our virtual tours. There are two things to consider in screen check: tone and color.

01. What’s the Difference between Flash VR, Java and QTVR? Flash is the most ubiquitous of all plugins that support Virtual Reality Photography. This is why we recommend this as the best solution overall. JAVA was built into the operating system of most every personal computer untill recent lawsuits that resulted in fewer installations on new computers. QTVR stands for QuickTime Virtual Reality and was the original display technology that started VR Photography. QTVR is free software download for all platforms and preinstalled into every MAC as well as many Windows machines on delivery.

What are hotspots all about?
Hotspots are clickable areas within movies that create a very cool way to display deeper information on any environment, AND allow for the viewer to move to another location by merely clicking in a movie to go there.

How much do virtual tours cost?
Visit our pricing page for our virtual tours here. You can see there many types of additional custom options and features available. When we have compared pricing with our competitors, we honestly feel that we offer a far better value on a high quality virtual tour.

04.

Will you do just the 360 images, not the interface?
We will do 360 photography (and still photography) without the interface design, , but we honestly feel that our best value add is in the fact that we can create the sleekest and most intuitive way to display our images in a module that matches your existing website –for far less that your internal IT department can do it.

05.

How does the process of working with you go?
After we discuss your needs we will make a proposal that includes costs and rough outline of what the project will entail. Once that is agreed upon, we then schedule a convenient time to come and shoot at your location. We create an online client page to show proof images and designs as they progress during the approval and production phases. This allows the client to circulate that URL internally for further input. Once all the pieces are put together and fully programmed, we then electronically deliver the files via FTP to your IT department with the simple instructions on how to implement the tour.

06.

Does the tour go on my website or yours?
In most cases our clients will host their new 360 degree virtual tour on their own servers, but we also have many clients that WE serve their entire websites AND virtual tour.

07.

How long does the process of creating a tour take?
It really depends on the complexity of the tour production. If it is one of our “Nexus Virtual Tour” designs, the process can take as little as 5-7 days after we shoot it for you to have it working (assuming the client gives us quick feedback on approvals).
