About 360 degree
virtual tours.
FAQs and Help on Quicktime VR (QTVR)
With VR movies such as our 360 degree virtual
tours, you click and drag your mouse inside the image to spin
it and look around. In some tours there are “hotspots”
that allow you to click particular areas for more information.
You will need to have JAVA enabled in your browser settings
to view JAVA tours. Quicktime, a free multimedia player from
Apple for Macs or PCs, provides the smoothest playback of
our 360 degree virtual tours. If you prefer to view QTVR movies
you will need to have Quicktime installed (see Downloads at
right).
Check Your Monitor
We want you to see images on your
screen as correctly as possible. The following link will help
you calibrate your monitor for our virtual tours. There are
two things to consider in screen check: tone
and color.

What’s
the Difference in Java and QTVR? JAVA is built into
the operating system of most every personal computer used
today and therefore our JAVA content does not require
any additional software download to view it. However JAVA
has traditionally not worked well in older MAC computers.
QTVR stands for QuickTime Virtual Reality and is a technology
that creates a more integrated experience, especially
when using sound. QTVR is free software download for all
platforms and preinstalled into every MAC as well as many
Windows machines on delivery. This combination allows
almost every viewer to see our content with no need for
additional installations. TOP

What are hotspots all about? Hotspots are clickable
areas within movies that create a very cool way to display
deeper information on any environment, AND allow for the
viewer to move to another location by merely clicking
in a movie to go there. TOP

How much do virtual tours cost? Since we allow for
such a high level of customization, we bid each project
on the needs of that client. We must see those parameters
in order to give fair pricing on a project. When we have
compared pricing with our competitors, we honestly feel
that we offer a far better value on a high quality virtual
tour. You can see base pricing for our Standard Tours
here. TOP

Will you do just the 360 images, not the interface? We
will do 360 photography (and still
photography) without the interface design, , but we
honestly feel that our best value add is in the fact that
we can create the sleekest and most intuitive way to display
our images in a module that matches your existing website
–for far less that your internal IT department can
do it. TOP

How does the process of working with you go? After
we discuss your needs we will make a proposal that includes
costs and rough outline of what the project will entail.
Once that is agreed upon, that outline may get developed
into a comp. design or storyboard. We then schedule convenient
time to come and shoot at your location. We create an
online client page to show proof images and designs as
they progress during the approval and production phases.
This allows the client to circulate that URL internally
for further input. Once all the pieces are put together
and fully programmed, we then electronically deliver the
files via FTP to your IT department with the simple instructions
on how to implement the tour. TOP

Does the tour go on my website or yours? In most cases
our clients will host their new 360 degree virtual tour
on their own servers, but we also have many clients that
WE serve their entire websites AND virtual tour. TOP

How long does the process of creating a tour take? It
really depends on the complexity of the tour design. If
it is one of our “Standard
Virtual Tour” designs, the process can take
as little as 5-7 days after we shoot it for you to have
it working (assuming the client gives us quick feedback
on approvals). If it is a more complex design of a custom
virtual tour, then it totally depends on the feature
sets we are using. TOP |
