Virtually Anywhere Provides Content for KXAN.com
Austin,
TX: Virtually Anywhere has teamed with Austin’s NBC
affiliate, KXAN, to provide a virtual tour of Central Texas’ finest
displays of holiday lights. While new light displays will be
added each week, the site currently features displays from Johnson
City,
Marble Falls, Westlake Hills and various displays throughout
Central Austin. Future virtual holiday light tours include: the
Zilker
Park Christmas Tree, the Trail of Lights and the Capitol.
Virtually
Anywhere’s photographic interactive technology
moves the photographic image from the flat, two dimensional world
into
a 3D experience allowing the viewer to explore and examine the
detailed virtual world of each holiday display.
The tour may be
viewed at either http://www.Virtually-Anywhere.com/holidaylights or http://www.kxan.com/.
KXAN prominently features the tours via their web site and will
run a promotional schedule for the tours.
Last
year, KXAN tested the idea with a tour of the 37th Street lights. “The
response was overwhelming,” explains Wendy McMahon, KXAN’s
promotion director. “We have always incorporated the holiday
lights into our newscast. We are so pleased to now move from
a two dimensional presentation to the three dimensional tour
Virtually
Anywhere has produced.”
Carrington “Canny” Weems,
Virtually Anywhere’s
president and creative director, explains why this project is
near to his heart, “This is a departure from the corporate
work our company is known for. Usually we produce tours of buildings
or
yachts, this is a fun project that puts everyone in the holiday
spirit.” Virtually Anywhere is an interactive firm that
provides business communication solutions using 360-degree photographic
virtual
reality technology. Virtually Anywhere’s unique expertise
and experience in virtual reality technology and interface design
allows content
to be viewed as a continuous, rich media experience.
Virtually
Anywhere is a privately held venture funded by individual seed
partners whose clients include Luhrs Marine Group, Xetel
and GSD&M.
